Changing to new blog url. Can I move my followers over?

  I tried changing name of my blog, it created new blog by that name, so I imported everything over to new blog name. BUT… does that import followers? How would I do that? I’d like to keep my followers from the two prior titles of my blog. Also, can I set old blog to private so it’s not public?? Thereafter I’ve gotta update domain mapping. But first things first….. How do I consolidate followers of old blog title(s) to new title???
