Changing URL after site has been published?

Hello! I am in the process of gaining access to our existing domain but want to start creating my WordPress site now. I also want to move our domain from our current hosting company to WordPress hosting. Do I have to wait until my domain in transferred to your hosting before I start creating a WordPress site using mydomain.wordpress.com or can I create that now and then have the WordPress site resolve to my existing domain once its transferred?

You don’t need to wait until your domain is transferred. You can start creating your site on westonroadorg.wordpress.com, and then, once you’re ready, transfer the domain to us, and launch your site.
You can even upgrade to a plan while still using the free address, and this will also allow you to transfer your domain for free.
As you’re deciding which plan to go with, I’d like to point out that if you know, you’ll be using plugins and a custom theme, our Business plan would be the best fit. Otherwise, you can choose our Premium or Personal plan, both of which offer great features and flexibility to meet various needs.
Remember, you can upgrade at any time while you’re using the free address. So, feel free to upgrade and start building your site.
