Changing URL with content

  Hi. I have a WordPress URL 1. Later I also created WordPress URL 2, with the same username. Now, I would like to use my URL 2 – but keeping the original blogs/posts from URL 1 (with the original timestamps of creations). Could you please help me with this? I am not quite sure if I should delete URL 2, then change the URL of URL 1 to URL 2 – or if this is not possible after URL 2 has been deleted (as I read that URL 2 will be unavailable in the future. Does this mean that no one will be able to use that URL after deletion?) Thanks! Jonas

  I also tried “WordPress.com Blog/Site Address Change” to change URL 1 into using URL 2, but then it says that URL 2 is already in use (as it is not yet deleted). But, as mentioned, I am afraid of deleting URL 2 in case this permanently makes the URL inaccessible in the future.

  Hi Jonas,
  Do not delete URL 2. Export the content from URL 1 and then import it into URL 2. Once that’s done and content is showing properly on URL 2, make URL 1 private or delete it. Deleting a site, though, makes the URL unavailable to you (or anyone else) for at least two years.
