Changing Username

  Hi,

  Is there anyway that I can change my username? I typed too fast and messed it up. As of now, it shows ‘willchen319@willchen319gmailcom’.

  Yes, there is, but only by creating a new user. To create this user, you also can’t use the email address associated with your current user name. However, once your new user is created (remember to set it to administrator role), you can delete your current user, and use your preferred email address on the new user.

  You’re welcome. Since this is your first time, I’ll give you some quick instructions for how to change your username =)

  1 – go to your wp-admin panel. If you’re using fablegallery.com, go to http://fablegallery.com/wp-admin . Log in.
  2 – in the menu to the left, click Users > Invite new
  3 – fill out the information, and be sure to set the role to administrator (since this is yourself you’re sending it to – be very careful to allow others this role. Read more about roles here). Use one of your other email addresses. Now, log out of your WordPress site.
  4 – go to your email, and create your new user. Then log in to the wp-admin panel again with your new user.
  5 – in the menu to the left, click on Users > All users.
  6 – hover your mouse cursor over the old user account you want to delete, and click the delete link that appears.
