Changing username

  Hi! I am trying to change my username to ‘akilahscanvas’ and it keeps saying that it is unavailable. I previously had an account with you all where I used ‘akilahscanvas’ and I thought that I completely deleted it. When I search it it does not come up anywhere and doesn’t appear to be used by anyone else. Can you help me with figuring out how I can use that username again? Thanks.

  When you completely delete your site you can’t able to recover your domain and username there after.

  Important: You will not be able to change your username back. The old name will be reserved and no one will have access to it. URLs for other services such as Gravatar may be affected.

  Hi there,

  That username can only be used by the account that owns the matching site, https://akilahscanvas.wordpress.com/

  If you created that site, you’ll need to log into the account that owns that site first. Then you’ll be able to change the username of that account, or you’ll have to transfer the site to this account first if you want to change the username of this account.
