Changing username for one that is deleted

  I want to change my username to mygreenfuture, but WordPress says this is unavailable. When I visit the site, it says that the original owner deleted this site. Since this username is not in use, is it possible for me to claim this username?

  A deleted username cannot be reclaimed by anyone in the future.
