Changing username of a wordpress.com account
-
I have multiple wordpress.com accounts and am trying to consolidate them (as much as possible). I changed my username on this account from @marktzk to @marktzk2 thinking I would then change the username on another WordPress.com account from @thoughtsignals to @marktzk and have everything consolidated there. But it now appears that’s not possible.
Is there any way to get my @marktzk username back and have the blogs I have in the @thoughtsignals account consolidated under that?

Hi there!
This is the most helpful explanation I’ve seen of how to merge accounts:

Let me know if that doesn’t help!
Kind regards,

Thanks, Jason. I don’t think that’s quite what I need. It’s not so much two WordPress.com blogs, as two WordPress.com accounts. I’ve already moved all the blogs to one account. But there is a Gravatar associated with the account I’d like to get rid of, and I’d like to have the account name that I used to use back. Not sure if that’s possible.

Ah! Gotcha!
You cannot delete a Gravatar account, only make it private.
From the Gravatar website:How do I hide my profile?
While you cannot completely delete your profile, you can remove all of your profile information easily through the “Edit My Profile” page, and you can also hide your profile from external access. Visit your profile page (click your name in the top navigation of the website), then click the “Hide My Profile” link in the bottom, right-hand corner.
Hope this helps!
Jason
