Changing username to something reserved.

I want to change my username to something reserved. Is it possible?
I’d like to use ‘iasmith’ instead of ‘iasmithmusic’. There is no site up, but it says it’s reserved. Is there a way to contact whoever reserved it and ask for it?
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No

No
When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username account.
However, the good news is that you can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

I own the domain name markvanpatten.com (my name) and want to set up a WordPress blog for professional purposes. It currently redirects to my personal blog.
The WordPress domain is reserved.
Any advice? -
Yes. Read what I posted above and know it does matter a feather or fig what the underlying .wordpress.com blog URL is when you are domain mapping.

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from. If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.
See here for mapping an existing domain that you already own http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.
