Changing visual post layout

I am using the theme Museum and my site is sophiesshots.wordpress.com

On created posts, I can either display the title and the description of the post OR I can add a featured image which will only display the title of the post if the mouse is hovered over this image. (An example of this can be seen on this page here https://sophiesshots.wordpress.com/category/animals/ )
If I set a featured image, it places the picture I chose at the very top of the post, largely too.

Is there a way for the posts to show with the title and a picture as the background block before opening the post? And without it showing the image at the very top of the post in a large size, once opened.

Apologies if this is a bit confusing, but any help would be highly appreciated!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Featured Images for posts and pages should be at least 920 wide and 920 high.

If your featured images are correctly sized and you theme is not performing exactly as described at Museum https://wordpress.com/theme/museum type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up.
