I changed my web address and want to get change it back. I am extremely confused now because it looks like I have two different blogs with the same title and I don’t know how to get it back to just one. I sent an email about a questions yesterday and have not heard back and need to get some help with this so that I can complete my deadlines. Please let me know how I can resolve this problem. Thank you for your help!

Just to make sure: You have two blogs with the same title, but two different URLs?
When you changed the URL I’m guessing you selected the option to not discard the old address. No problem then. Just set the one you don’t want to use to private (Settings -> Reading in the dashboard) and use the other one. I’d suggest you change the name of the private blog so you don’t get confused between them. But don’t delete it. You can use it as a test blog where you can try out themes, widgets and the like before you use them on your live blog.

Thank you for your help. All of the content on my thclubatosu.wordress.com blog got transfered to the new web adress i made theohiostateuniversityfacultyclub.wordpress.com page but non of my followers came with it. Now theclubatosu doe not have any content at all. How can I switch the content back to my theclubatosu?

You can export your content from theohiostateuniversityfacultyclub.wordpress.com (http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/) and then import it to theclubatosu.wordress.com (http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/).
If you’d prefer to rather use theohiostateuniversityfacultyclub.wordpress.com you can also ask staff to move your followers to that blog instead. If you’d rather do that, reply here that you want staff to move your subscribers for you and add the tags “modlook” and “move subscribers” to the box on the right of the page.
P.S. In future if you’re looking for help on the forums, please post the complete URL of the blogs, starting with “http://” It just makes it easier to help you.

I would like to move my subscribers from http://www.theclubatosu.wordpress.com to http://www.theohiostateuniversityfacultyclub.wordpress.com. I would also like to move the blogs that I am following to that blog as well.
-
I would like my http://theohiostateuniversityfacultyclub.wordpress.com to be my primary blog because I like this web address better, but I am worried that by starting over with a new web address I am back at square one with gaining a following and online presence.
Would it be more beneficial to get all of my content back on my http://theclubatosu.wordpress.com blog and then change the domain name to http://theohiostateuniveristyfacultyclub.wordpress.com instead of starting over with promoting a brand new web address and blog. Having a domain name filters all of the searches to the original blog correct (http://theclubatosu.wordpress.com)?

Hey there,
Moving all your content back to “theclubatosu.wordpress.com” and then change the domain name to “theohiostateuniveristyfacultyclub.wordpress.com” would basically give you the same problem of starting over with a new web address.
My suggestion would be to stick to your current address and setup a Site Redirect on “theclubatosu.wordpress.com” so that its traffic is forwarded to your new site.
Once you’re decided on that, I can start migrating your subscribers. Let me know how you wish to move forward. Thanks!
-
Thank you! That would be great. I would like to setup a Site redirect on “theclubatosu.wordpress.com”. If you could more the subscribers I would greatly appreciate it!

Hi there!
I can see that the subscribers were also migrated to “theohiostateuniversityfacultyclub.wordpress.com” during the name change:
https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog=62051955&blog_subscribers&unit=1
Can you confirm this?
-
Hello! Yes, I can confirm the the subscribers have been transferred over.
Could you please setup a Site redirect on http://www.theclubatosu.wordpress.com page to http://www.theohiostateuniversityfacultyclub.wordpress.com?
-
Hi there!
I’m afraid that you would have to purchase the Site Redirect upgrade and take care of its set up. Please go to the Store in your admin panel to purchase the upgrade:
https://theclubatosu.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php
And enter “theohiostateuniversityfacultyclub.wordpress.com” in the URL field. Please proceed with the additional steps to purchase it.
Let me know if you encounter problems. Good luck!
