Changing website hosting company…

  Want to change from current webhost to wordpress. I would like to build a basic site before transferring my domain name…is this possible? I opened a wordpress account by utitlizing a free blog template to be able to get additional information. I was trying to change it to a more useable website template (Gateway) for my site and been unable to to move into the new template. Is there a way to change without deleting account and starting over?

  Yes, of course, you can work on your site and once you’re ready, you can transfer or map your custom domain like so:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

  From what I can see, you have already changed the theme, however, it will not automatically resemble the demo page. If that’s what you’d like to do, you’ll want to follow the steps from the theme setup page:

  https://wordpress.com/theme/gateway

  I also noticed that you have not verified your account yet – it’s an important step, you may not be able to use all the functionalities before your account has been verified.
