Changing Website Theme

Hello.
I have been trying to change my web blog theme on wordpress.com. When i come to choose a different theme and activate it I find that my web blog seems to have the same original theme it had previously. The theme just does not seem to change, I also find that i can not see the posts that i have been posting on my blog. The only things that seem different is the header and the header image. On this blog the heading is: Engines and Parts and the image is of a man working on a engine. Im finding it difficult to understand why the theme will not change and my posts will not show, there should be 2 posts available to read. I have a Free Plan with wordpress.com and here is the blog in question: https://engines851537915.wordpress.com/

Most folks find this tutorial really helpful with getting started. It’s at https://learn.wordpress.com/
There are 2 published posts and you’ll find them by clicking on My Sites – Site – Posts… In order for those to display you need to designate which Page your posts are going to be published on. They can go on the front page, which is where a visitor comes first when they load your site, or it could be a secondary page that you link in to the site menu. It’s up to you.
If you have trouble just let me know which page you’d like the posts to be displayed on and I will get that fixed up.
Looking at the site I can see that it is currently using Penscratch 2 theme. What theme would you like to use instead? Those are at https://wordpress.com/themes/
