Changing HTML Website to WordPress

Hi! We would like to convert our website to WordPress by using the business plan. I have a couple questions. 1. Would our old website stay active until I publish this one? 2. What do we need to convert the website?

I think I found your old site. It looks like it’s mostly HTML, which can be copied over to new pages here at WordPress.com .
1) Yes your old site will stay active until you map your domain and point it to our servers. Don’t worry if that sounds a bit overly technical; we’ll be able to help you through. But in the meantime you’ll have your .wordpress.com address that you can work with.
2) I would head to wordpress.com/page and copy and paste the “middle” content from every page of your site to a new page here. Don’t worry too much about the formatting. But keep the titles the same as much as possible — we’d like to keep your links working if possible.
