Changing WordPress Domain within account

  Hello! I know this topic has been touched on a bit by your community, but i’m confused on which method would be most correct:

  I have created 2 wordpress accounts (by accident – i didn’t know i completely registered the one, dumb of me): cdexpeditions.wordpress.com and coachdogexpeditions.wordpress.com.

  When paying for my upgrade to premium, i used the cdexpeditions name. I would like this to be the coachdogexpeditions domain name. I don’t want to change my username or the email. After reading the support blogs, i’m confused of whether i should transfer the blog over or move the blog. My concern is that if i move the blog over, will the domain name that i purchased move as well? If i transfer the blog over, it sounds like i’d have to change my username, email, etc.

  Also, is there an easy way i could just keep using cdexpeditions name and have the coachdogexpeditions name redirect? It sounds like that it costs money to redirect, even though it’s within wordpress. Maybe i missed something.

  Hi there,

  Just to confirm, you want the domain name: coachdogexpeditions.com and WordPress.com Premium upgrade transferred to the site:

  coachdogexpeditions.wordpress.com

  Please reply to confirm.

  If you then want cdexpeditions.wordpress.com to redirect to coachdogexpeditions.com, you will need to purchase the Site Redirect upgrade, but considering you’ve only had that site for 2 weeks, I wouldn’t think this was necessary. However, if you want to purchase the upgrade you may.

  yes. i want that. i also want all the work i’ve done so far on cdexpeditions converted over.

  and i agree with you on the redirect thing.

  That would not be completely possible. You can Export and then Import your post/pages, but you would have to apply the theme and redo widgets/customizations. Do you still want to go through with this?

  that’s fine. i would like to do that, but it doesn’t have to be right now. what process would i have to do for this? Thanks again for replying.

  Hey Dan,

  We can do this for you whenever you would like. If you want us to move the upgrades for you, just reply back to confirm and let us know in this thread.

  As far as the export/import process, you can do that at any time, but you’ll probably want to wait until we’ve moved the upgrades for you.
