Changing WordPress header to time of day

    Hello!

I was just wondering, would I be able to set a header on my WordPress.com site which changes according to the time? – Could I set it up so in the daytime, I have a daytime picture, and at night, a nighttime picture?

I’m using the Twenty Eleven theme.

    Many thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This doesn’t seem to be possible and not recommended too. Because when it is night in your region there will be early morning in other region, and when a person just waking up and see your blog will definitely feel your night header awkward and vice versa. You should have balanced header.

This is not possible on a free hosted WordPress.com blog.

Well before we had the possiblity of using random header images, I once saw a forum a topic where you could set up random header images manually with the Custom Design upgrade (known as Custom CSS back then) and with a separate server that runs on either PHP or Perl (can’t remember which). Basically you would specify in your custom CSS sheet to get the image from that separate server.

So having a header change depending on the time of day might be feasible on WordPress.com but overly complicated if you ask me.

We can have random headers on some themes. There is an old thread on rotating headers for Twenty Ten too but we cannot have them on a timer. There is a theme “skin” for older version of Sandbox 10 called Dirunal that you may be recalling.
