I’ve changed my tagline from “A crash course in current events for beginners, bloggers, and busy people” to “A crash course in current events”, but when I try to link to my page on facebook, the old tagline shows up. How do I fix this? Thanks :)

You can change your tagline at any time at the top of this page > Settings > General

Effective taglines a brief branding messages. Do note that if your tagline and blog title comprise together more than 60 – 65 characters including spaces, then it’s not likely that Google will display it in the SERPs.

I changed my tagline there, and the new tagline is displayed, but it still shows the old one on Facebook. Any suggestions on why this might be or how to fix it?

FB probably caches stuff. It will likely “fix itself” eventually. If you post to FB using the Publicize feature, try disconnecting from FB and then setting it up again.

How can I stop, prevent, and filibuster, “Jog your memory read wordpress.com” from being changed? Can this tagline be trademarked?

  • Only you can change your tagline, but it can’t be trademarked since “WordPress” is trademarked by the WordPress Foundation.
