Changing/Buying Domain

  My blog is http://www.sizzling.wordpress.com.

  How can I get rid of the .wordpress from my address? Do I have to purchase the domain? And can I do that through wordpress? If you recommend leaving wordpress to find/buy a new domain, which companies do you suggest?

  Similarly, if my desired domain is already taken, is it best to change the name of your site or have an incongruous web address?

  I have the same question-Lets say my blog in http://example.wordpress.com If you buy a domain and lets say I chose http://example.com will http://example.com be the actual blog, or will it just redirect to http://example.wordpress.com? If it only redirects, can you make it so that it can be your actual blog?
