Chaning DNS records confusion

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi guys,

I followed the dns guide and read it a few times. But either I’m impatient ,confused or both. I have arranged a external host to which I would like point the dns records to. (aside: It seems IP6 is not supported?)

This is what my host gives me.

    TXT v=spf1 redirect=spf.pcextreme.nl
    MX 10 primary.mail.pcextreme.nl
    MX 20 fallback.mail.pcextreme.nl
    AAAA mail.MYDOMAIN.com 2a00:f10:101:101:25:80:110:143
    AAAA localhost.MYDOMAIN.com ::1
    AAAA *.MYDOMAIN.com 2a00:f10:10a:5:3:b43:80:2
    AAAA MYDOMAIN.com 2a00:f10:10a:5:3:b43:80:2
    A mail.MYDOMAIN.com 109.72.87.133
    A localhost.MYDOMAIN.com 127.0.0.1
    A *.MYDOMAIN.com 109.72.85.101
    A MYDOMAIN.com 109.72.85.101

Note I changed the domainname to ‘MYDOMAIN’ because I don’t feel like posting it on a public forum.

Now I do read subdomains are reserved ‘feature’ (interesting…) so I applied the the stuff below (without subdomains). But it still doesn’t seem to refresh.
Does any of the happiness guru’s or forum people seem to know the problem?

    TXT v=spf1 redirect=spf.pcextreme.nl
    MX 10 primary.mail.pcextreme.nl
    MX 20 fallback.mail.pcextreme.nl
    A mail 109.72.87.133
    A localhost 127.0.0.1
    CNAME MYDOMAIN.com 109.72.85.101

    Many thanks in advanced!
