Ok, I’ll bite. I looked at your blog, what are you trying to do?

I want to change the color of the text and text boxes and the color behind text on the side bars. I have the colors all choosen, but i cannot figure out where to put them in the CSS. Is there a way to tell where to put it?

The best thing to do is to get either IE Developer Toolbar (if you are using IE) or Firefox’s Firebug (preferable, if you are using firefox; it has a lot more features) and use it to analyze the CSS and HTML together. With both of these tools, there is a way to hover over a visual element on the page, whereupon it lights up with a box around it. When you click on it, the analysis window lets you see the corresponding HTML and CSS.

I can do this for you, of course, but, in the spirit of “teaching a person to fish” I would suggest you get one of these tools and try it out.

Once you do that, it becomes a lot easier to figure out what to change. But if you want, I’ll be happy to look and tell you what to do, if you don’t want to “fish” yourself.

Thank you so much! I will be trying to use the Firebug tomorrow. I will keep in touch just in case I can’t figure it out though!

No problem, and if you run into problems, contact me via my blog. Believe me, there is a lot of trial and error involved, but you should be able to get close to the design you want. I’ve considered having a second private blog for experiments, just for that reason.
