Charge on Card
-
So, I submitted a ticket about an hour ago about a charge on my card and haven’t received a response.
I am being charged for another wordpress site I signed up for using an account different from this one. I don’t have the e-mail address so I can’t 1.) See the receipt for my transaction 2. ) cancel it myself. Is there anyone who can help me get this resolved. I remember trying to do this a year ago and never getting a response either. What is with the customer service here?

Hi @markbarq, we do need an authorized login to cancel, otherwise people could just shut down sites they don’t like by claiming it’s under another account.
But we can help in one way or another. If you can’t log into the account, you can:
– regain access to the account using the transaction ID from the recent charge:
https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-formor if you don’t care to regain access:
– locate the charge at wpchrg.com, then contact billing from that
Does that help? I’d recommend the account recovery option.

Thank you for responding in a somewhat timely manner.
However this doesn’t really help.
1.) I’ve already explained that I cannot log into my account due to not knowing the E-mail login. This already nullifies the account recovery and the view receipt process because….I can’t login to view any of the information needed to get this off.
Seemingly, it’s looking like I have no option at all unless I have the exact email for this blog. No way to recover it without the receipt which I can’t even view without having the E-mail for this account. This is just poor design.
What available options do I have to get this handled?

The transaction ID will also be on your bank statement, which you should have access to since you see the charge on your card. The transaction ID will be on your bank statement as
WordPressfollowed by a letter/number code. They’ll look like this:WordPress XXXXXXXXXXThen you can use that in the account recovery form in order to get assistance.
Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Additionally, if you have submitted a request through that form, our Payments team will answer the request in the order in which it was received. We can’t help process these things in the public support forums, so you’ll need to be patient and wait for their response.
Thanks!

Once again, I appreciate the response.
However it does not work. I’ve tried it this morning. I entered the ID I received along with the name of the blog and an e-mail to contact to me at only to be told that I “should be able to get the account back using the e-mail provided” followed by it prompting me to use the lost password function for this account:
This is not the account the charge is being billed to.
So this is yet another feature that does not work unless you know the exact E-mail.
still have received no response from them as of typing this and last year when I did the same I didn’t receive one either. So my only option is to wait and hope that someone will reach out?

I do see you have already written into the payments team and responded to the ticket yourself. Please avoid adding responses to that ticket. As my colleague mentioned, they respond in the order received.
I do not see an account recovery form submission, or the response you mentioned. Please try again here:
https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
You can enter the old email (even if you don’t have access to it) or just click the ‘don’t know’ box.
Enter the site url, your current email, and the transaction ID in the proof section. Also, please note the transaction ID is not an 877 phone number. It’s usually letters and numbers.
-
Thank you for specifying that it is not the 877 number. That was very helpful.
It looks like my request went through this time.
Hopefully someone gets back to me now.
