Chargeback fee
-
I made an incorrect fraudulent claim against wordpress when my auto-renewal was charged to my account. I have since rescinded my claim and my bank has ceased all fraud investigations against WordPress.
I wish to reinstate my website with you and understand I need to pay £15 to cover the admin fee. What I don’t understand is how my site is now being charged over £7 a month to be hosted on wordpress when this was not the case when i created the site a few years ago.
Can anyone explain what I must do in order to reinstate my site and what charges I must pay in order to do this. If i am required to pay £7+ a month for hosting on wordpress then I will not be continuing to use WordPress as a host and will start looking elsewhere.

HI there,
We don’t charge a hosting fee on WordPress.com. Hosting has always been free.
You are being prompted to purchase a plan because currently the domain on your site is disabled, and for sites without a domain the only way to add one is via a plan.
But in your case that’s not how we need to do this. Your domain is still registered. It’s just disabled due to the chargeback.
I’ve asked our billing team to check, and it appears you did not cancel the dispute in time, and the dispute was closed in your favour. This means your bank will be refunding you the payment that was disputed.
Please go to the checkout page and pay the Chargeback fee that’s listed there. If there are any other items, i.e. a domain or a plan in the cart, please remove those and pay only the Chargeback Fee.
Then I’ve sent you a link via email to pay for the renewal of your domain. Once we receive that payment I can restore your domain and reactivate your site.
Note that should you ever cancel this domain or let it expire, you will need to purchase a plan to add it again. This also applies to all new accounts that don’t already own a domain.
