Charged For A Site I No Longer Have

On the 9th August, the renewal fee was taken from my account for a website I have taken down. I can’t even log in from the account in question because it no longer exists. How can I obtain a refund?

You can send us an e-mail at help@wordpress.com from the e-mail address that was associated with that account and we’ll be happy to take a look for you.
I’m not seeing any charges associated with this account, and we can’t provide information on other accounts except to the registered owner :-).
