Charged for something I forgot I left in cart
-
Yeah, I know this sounds stupid, but a few days ago I wanted to see how much it would cost to map my site to a subdomain. Decided I didn’t need it and moved on.
Switch to a few minutes ago, I wanted to add privacy protection to one of my domains. So I order it and everything goes as normal, but then I notice in my billing page that I was charged for the domain mapping as well as the protection; even though I don’t recall adding it to my cart or similar at all. Any chance of a refund or am I out 11 quid? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I actually managed to request a refund. Turns out you cancel the thing from the Purchases tab not the “Billing History” tap. I did a stupid.

Hi there,
I can confirm the refund for the mapping has been issued. You should receive it in about 10 business days.
Looking at your account I noticed you have a domain, diamondpigman.com, but then you also have a site redirect, redirecting traffic from your site to a different site at diamondpigman.co.uk
You can save yourself the annual cost of the site redirect if you just change the name servers or IP address of the diamondpigman.com domain to point to your other site instead. If the domain is set as primary on our end and connected as an additional domain on your other site, that will have the same end result of redirecting traffic from your free WordPress.com address to the other site.
If you want to look at that option you can find the instructions here:
