Charges for domain registration

  I paid for a domain with godaddy.com and I am thinking about switching to wordpress because it was recommended to me by someone I trust. I have already paid for the domain for two years with godaddy.com. Your website says that if I transfer my domain to you I would get a one year extension on my domain. When would I have to start paying wordpress for the domain?

  Hi there,

  To transfer the domain to us you will need to buy a paid plan from us. The domain transfer is included for free only as part of the plan.

  You’re correct that the transfer will renew the domain for an additional year, so if your domain is currently registered until 2022, after the transfer it will be registered to 2023, so the next renewal payment for the domain will only be due then.
