Chat plugin

  Hello,

  I’m looking for a chat plugin that allows site admin to chat one-on-one with a specific user.

  Basically, I want the user to be able to schedule a one on one chat appointment. Then either by invitation from site admin to that specific user or by password emailed to the user ahead of time, the user and site admin can connect for a private discussion.

  I don’t want an open chatroom for anyone to use.

  Anyone know of a plugin that supports this?

  Hi @createarank, you might try asking in the forums for self-hosted sites at https://wordpress.org/support. WordPress.com only allows outside plugins for our business plan users, so you’re less likely to get much input here.

  That said, I will add my own two cents: if the chat is to be 1:1, you might simply opt for any one of the available conference apps out there rather than a plugin, and focus your plugin efforts on scheduling. I personally like calendly for that; you could use a link in your menu or embed it in your site.

  By the way, I did just notice your site has a business plan here so you can add outside plugins.

  Just .. these particular forums are typically frequented by folks who use the free plan on WordPress.com and aren’t likely to have as much experience with different plugin options.
