  After contacting a few, and still in it’s infancy, I would pose a suggestion, an active ‘side bar’ in which online bloggers could chat readily with other writers. We often wish to contact other writers regarding off topic discussions other than the current blog and I was wondering if this was a viable possibility.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  At present there is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on any free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and there is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality.

  For your WordPress.COM blog you have three free workaround forum options http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2012/04/23/wordpress-com-forum-options/
  One approach is to register a forum on the internet and then create a custom menu in your blog and include a custom link to the forum in it.

  The Tlk.io widget allows you to embed a web chat in your WordPress.COM hosted blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/tlk-io-widget/ There are no other chat options I know of that work on WordPress.COM blogs at this time.

  Additional information:
  You can create a Subscribe page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ add and customize a contact form with multiple fields, change the email address where you’ll be notified, and mark feedbacks as spam from your dashboard on that page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/

  Hi covertnovelist,

  It’s certainly a plug-in request that I’ve seen before.
  Perhaps if you submit it to this forum, it could be considered?

  As Staff provide the Tlk.io widget my guess is that the plugin linked to won’t be added but you can ask anyway by using this link to start a thread there https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/ideas#postform

  Thank you timethief and cobalteye as I appreciate the input. Ill have to cut copy and paste this info as I have no idea how to implement your suggestions, but I definitely will get assistance as I believe it’s worth doing. So I shall check back with an update either way, whether I’ve managed to do this or not. timethief you are indeed useful, your input is invaluable and greatly appreciated! woot woot will see how it goes.
