Chateau: Comments not showing on Pages

What have I done this time, please, team?
I received email from someone who wanted to say something nice on my About page and can’t; and it seems that there’s no sign of Comments on any of the Pages.
I have everything checked to show ’em, far as I know.

I really can’t help being, as my husband liked to say, a maroon …

To be quite honest, it sounds like standard spam. It’s quite obvious where your comments section is, and it works fine.

But *I* don’t see it, either!

And no, it was a really nice email from someone whose site I’d been to, and who was trying to explain pingbacks to me (unsuccessfully). -
I’m only party right: I see ’em clearly on the Events and Bit Essays Pages, but not the first ones …

If you don’t see the Comment section on some of your pages, then commenting is disabled on those pages. If you don’t want that, go to Pages > All Pages, click Quick Edit under the title of the page in question, check the option “Allow Comments”, click Update.

Panos, it isn’t. I’ve put a screen-grab into my Library, and would be very grateful for someone’s looking at it, please.
This is a complete mystery: but so is everything I manage to come up with.

Found it.
It was that thing of going to “Quick Edit” on each of the Pages and ensuring that the box for “Allow Comments” is checked.
NO idea how I managed to allow ’em for any of my Pages!
