Ok so other than random stabs in the dark, how can I choose the exact picture, area, cropping and size of a picture displayed on a page using chateau?
Ive tried all the help tips, cropping, scaling, saving etc etc in every conceivable order except the “one” which is intended. Any help greatfully received

Are you using an image editor to prepare your images for the web?
Something like PhotoShop, Elements, iPhoto, Picnik, Gimp, among many other choices?
For efficient use of your storage space, and to have your pages load as quickly as possible:
Maximum image size for Chateau is 531/790 depending on whether you have a sidebar or not. You want the images to display at 72dpi which is the maximum web resolution. Images should be compressed to less than 100k, or even 50k.
