Chatroll no longer shows up on site

i have the same problem. Meebo is not the solution because you can only chat with the admin of the site, but the visitor can’t talk to each other…

I became aware if 4 chatboxes and posted about them here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/03/07/4-chatboxes-for-wordpress-com-blogs/

Really !? Thx a lot for this precious information, I was so disappointed with the meebo chat this morning ( yeah I was giving it a try ).. anyway, very glad to hear this too, for me and the whole community.

Hello, all.
For a short amount of time, users were able to use ChatRoll and other services that use iframes to insert their content on WordPress.com. This was the result of a bug and was unintended.
We have since patched the bug and have filtered out these iframes from all WordPress.com sites. We apologize for the confusion, but ChatRoll and other iframe-based embeds will not be returning to WordPress.com at this time.
As always, we will continue to monitor requests for additional features and shortcodes on WordPress.com.
Thank you for your understanding.

Hi all,
This is Jonathan from Chatroll. We’re continuing to work with WordPress.com with the goal of bringing Chatroll back as an officially supported [chatroll] WordPress.com shortcode.
We will send out updates as we hear them. In the meantime, you can continue using your Chatroll(s) via standard links. Simply go to your Chatroll’s Settings -> Install tab, select WordPress.com, and copy and paste the link code into your posts and/or widgets.
As always, we truly appreciate your amazing support!
Kind regards,
Jonathan

Jonathan, we don’t really have any interest in supporting Chatroll as a widget in the short-term.

Matt:
Thanks for your response. Please keep our outstanding track record in mind when considering Chatroll for future inclusion. We’ll be happy to work with the WordPress.com team to make it a great experience for WordPress.com users.
To existing Chatroll / WordPress.com users:
Your options for using Chatroll with WordPress are now as follows:
(1) You may continue using your Chatroll(s) on WordPress.com via a standard HTML link. We’ve updated the Chatroll website with new instructions.
(2) We continue to support fully-embedded mode on self-hosted WordPress blogs:

I absolutely LOVE chatroll (sooo much better than Meebo). Chatroll lets you customize the widget dimensions, change around colors and text and lets anyone participate on the blog – my bloggers love it and can drop links and messages which don’t get deleted when you refresh the page (like Meebo does). I was SO disappointed to see wordpress finally caught on that Chatroll wasn’t suppose to work, however, like many other wordpress bloggers I know who use Chatroll, I think its worth considering making chatroll something wordpress bloggers can use on their blogs….
I tried Meebo so many times, but my bloggers still want something like Chatroll….so I’m going to stick with the external chatroll link for now I guess~
Please reconsider wordpress!
