Check for domain name

I was looking to grab the apjphotography.wordpress.com domain. When I try, your search feature tells me it’s not available, but when I try the url, I get a page that says it doesn’t exist. I was wondering if there’s a way you can double check for me if the domain is available. Thanks!

There is no recycling of deleted blog URLS here at wordpress.com.

Or you can purchase a domain name via a domain mapping upgrade as in that case it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
