Check past comments against moderation list?

  I was reading that there is an option to “Check past comments against moderation list” in the Options / Discussion section – according to here:

  http://codex.wordpress.org/Comment_Moderation

  I cannot find this option where it is supposed to be located, not on my wordpress.com blog, or on my seperately hosted wordpress blog. Does this option still exist?

  The name of that may have changed. Under options > discussion, make sure that “Comment author must have a previously approved comment” is checked and that “An administrator must always approve the comment” is not checked

  Thank you – but is that the same as “Check past comments against moderation list” ? That option is supposed to allow you to check that what you’re putting in the moderation field is going to have the intended consequences? I’m not sure whether “Comment author must have a previously approved comment” will do the same thing?
