Checkbox Y/N in post editor for comment on post

Sometimes I want to make posts that you can’t comment, but it seems like it isn’t possible, The only way seems to be to stop comment in all posts. So would it be possible to implement a Checkbox Y/N in post editor for comment on post?

Another thing – when you stop the possibility to comment you still see a link to the comment side on the first page, since you can’t comment the only text would be comment disabled insteed of seeing the message when you have change page by clicking on the link.

I have a worked with sajts using wordpress.org and there I have used plugins to accomplish no comments on post in editor, but since it’s not possible to use plugins here well……

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You should be able to page down toward the bottom of the edit Post / Page screen and find the box to turn off comments for individual Posts / Pages

If you didn’t find it there like

    Discussion
    [x] Allow comments
[x]Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page

Then click on Screen Options and mark “Discussion”.

I have paged down toward the bottom of the edit Post / Page screen but there is only two checkboxes for Likes and Share.
And on screen options>discussion I only, what I can see, change for all posts.
For Default settings there is 3 checkboxes:
1- try to send messages to….
    2- allow messages/links from other….
3- Allow comments on new post
( had to translate from swedish)
When uncheckbox #3 I get it for all new posts, and there is no change in the edit post page.
When I designed pages i wordpress.org I had to use plugins for this, but it must be possible to do more directly, this a very common and useful feature.

On the edit Post screen – look at the top right hand corner for “screen options” (it is a bit hard to see) and click on it and see if the “Discussion” box is checked – that should then give you the check box that I gave earlier.

Since I never used the forum before, how do I close this topic?

You be welcome & good luck

You can’t close a topic – but there is a box on the right side of the screen – should be under “about this topic” there should be a box that has a drop down “this topic is not resolved” – change the drop down to “resolved” and that lets others know that you had your question answered.
