checking available url

I’d like change from francescareboani.wordpress.com to digitalepurpurea.wordpress.com but the url seems already took. But digitalepurpurea.wordpress.com is only a example of wordpress and the last post is since 2008. Is it possible to take it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

taking url that was once in use is unfortunately not possible.

You may, however, try to contact the blog owner (leave a comment on their site or use contact form, if available) to ask she’s O. K. with transferring the blog address to you.

There is no expiration date on blogs unused, reserved or otherwise. If you can make contact on your own with the owner of an unused blog via a contact form or commenting, then providing the are agreeable there is a means of a consenting blog owner to transfer the blog to another username account. If you are not successful, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

I think you are doing well when it comes to helping other bloggers here. I like the way you carefully search and find correct answers before you post into support threads. That’s so important because bloggers are frustrated by the time they post here, and they need and expect to get correct answers quickly. Keep up the good work. :) -
