child pages displayed on parent page?

i was wondering if there was a way to display the child pages on the parent page in the form of a link or a thumbnail? i have been playing around and i couldn’t find anyway to display the child pages, is it something easy i’m overlooking?

You can upload a thumbnail sized image into a Page and link it to a sub-page. Also note that some themes do automatically display links at the bottom of Pages to sub-pages. You can also place the Pages widget in the sidebar and then both Page links and subpage links will automatically display.

you mean without the theme’s default way of showing subpages (eg. in sidebar)? I managed to do it but only with some major struggling..hehe…if you check past threads, you can definitely read more. i had to create a private, blank parent page and then publish the child pages to generate the page links. then, i just added them into my ‘about’ page so they display at the top. :)

Themes here are not standardized and Regulus is an unusal theme in some regards. I know because I used it previously. ;)

but how did you add them to the about page? that’s basically what i’m trying to do …. i have a page called videos and i’m putting seperate videos on each page, so if someone clicks the video page it’d be wickid to have a list of all the videos

Instructions for how to upload images and videos how to create links are found in the FAQs
    http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/16/how-do-i-upload-pictures/
    http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/07/01/how-to-write-links/
    http://faq.wordpress.com/tag/video/

That being said it makes no sense to me that you are using this approach. I would upload the videos into posts rather than on to pages.

ya i know how to upload images, and put in links and video ….. and why would you make them a post and not a page?

Only one page in a blog automatically updates. This is usually your front page but can be changed to another here -> Options -> Reading
All other Pages(including subpages) sit outside the blog structure and do not automatically update, they cannot be assigned categories and they lack Google juice” when compared to posts.

When you over burden static pages that are meant to be few in number and only for content that rarely if ever changes it’s not reader friendly and it can make the appearance of your blog become “cluttered and ugly”.

So if you decide you want to take this approach then you will need this link to remedy the appearance http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/07/01/i-have-too-many-pages-at-the-top-of-my-blog/
