Child theme glitches

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m using Coraline theme. I edited the theme’s php files and style sheet directly and developed a site I am pleased with. I’m creating a child theme so that I won’t lose these changes with an update. Since I don’t remember which elements I edited (I know, shame on me), I’m just copying and pasting those files and uploading them to my child theme’s directory.

I thought I could get a replica of the original (+ edits) theme this way, but I get a few glitches (which I was partly expecting). The home button appears, even though I removed it. And Under each post, multiple links to the same previous entry appear.

The child theme is still in development (and private), so any conceptual help would be appreciated.
