child themes

  I’ve followed instructions from several options regarding creating a child theme for TwentyTwelve and nothing works. After I’ve created the style.css along with the other procedures, the theme isn’t created. I am having problems with text wrapping as well. Maybe I should just start fresh with a different theme. at this point I’m uncertain as to which path to take. I want to create a new site for our church and this has been a struggle.
