Child Themes

  I used the plugin ‘Child Theme Generator’ and it worked as far as I can tell but now my website is gone and its showing the original theme I used. How do I get my theme back as it was. I wanted to update the theme to the latest version and it said you will lose all your info so setup a child them. Well I did that but I lost all my data. Whats wrong?
