China WordPress access

  I live in China and tried to access my wordpress via my iphone, I attempted to use the …” Tap on “Add self-hosted WordPress blog”.- Insert the URL of your blog http://XXXXXXXX.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php”.. as suggested but it still didnt work. It says that the operation couldnt be compltede. Invalid argument. Please help!! Thanks

  China has been known to block WordPress.com blogs, and there is nothing that we can do about this. As a workaround, you can try using a VPN or proxy to access the blog. The following links provide some options that you may be able to explore and/or use:

  We have also heard that some users have had luck simply by using Opera Turbo:

  http://www.opera.com/browser/turbo/

  Thank you, I currently use a VPN to update on my laptop not on my iphone so I might have to install and use one on there. Thanks again.

  Have just seen this forum and relates to a query I have…

  I would like my wordpress blog (themindorchard.wordpress.com) to be accessible in China. That current domain name is blocked (like all wordpress sites) but I was wondering if I purchase the domain name ‘themindorchard.com’ (as has been offered to me on my dashboard for $18/year), whether it would then be accessible? (as the domain name no longer contains ‘wordpress’)

  If not, then do you have any other recommendations as to how I can map my current domain name (themindorchard.wordpress.com) so that it can be viewed in china?
