ChipIn Widget
-
I am trying to add the ChipIn widget on my blog. I purchased a separate (independent) URL and then mapped it to WordPress so I could add this ChipIn widget. Now….when I try to create the widget, the only thing my new Text widget shows is the html copied from the ChipIn site. Any advice?
My url is http://www.runbigdreambig.com
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t think ChipIn will work on WordPress.com. I also have a feeling they say that in their FAQ at ChipIn.
(But I could be wrong – it has been known.)

From ChipIn support pages:
The widget maker says that ChipIn supports WordPress. But when I post to my WordPress.com blog, the widget does not show up. Why is this?
There are two different versions of WordPress. At WordPress.org, users can download an installable software version of WordPress. Meanwhile, WordPress.com is a hosted blogging solution. The ChipIn Widget currently only works on WordPress.org powered blogs. For further clarification, see the WordPress FAQ. You may also contact WordPress and request that they allow the ChipIn Widget on WordPress.com.

I should have put the damn link in:

Mapping a domain name to a blog hosted here does not exempt you from the restrictions and terms of service here. Your blog is still physically hosted at wordpress.COM so all the restrictions still apply.
You would have to self-host a blog using the wordpress software at a third-party hosting site such as godaddy or dreamhost or bluehost. Figure a cost of $10 to $25 per month and you will be responsible for all upgrades, all security, all installations, all backups and all troubleshooting. If something goes wrong, you have to figure it out and then fix it.
