  We just built a new website with DreamHost using WordPress. An old site still shows up in Google search named https://chivaa.wordpress.com/. How do we remove the old site? That site was hosted on GoDaddy, the web hosting was not paid. All the files from GoDaddy were removed, so we no longer have access to them.

  If you want to delete the site https://chivaa.wordpress.com, please check out this support article:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

  Please be advised that this will permanently delete everything on the site and you will also not be able to use that url ever again.

  If you want to keep the content before deleting the site, you could export it. If you don’t know how to do this, please read this:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/

  Another option would be to edit the privacy settings, to encourage search engines to leave your site alone. To learn more about this, please check out this support article:

  Thanks for your reply. That would be fine if we had access to the wordpress.com files, but the person who did passed away and nobody else in the organization has the user name & password…
