chmod error on website

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello Team,

a few days ago I started getting the following error on my wordpress page: Warning: chmod(): No such file or directory in /var/www/web1370/html/wordpress/wp-includes/plugin.php(558) : runtime-created function on line 1

It only shows above the content and delivers this line multiple times before, on the bottom of the page you find the vieweable content. I already treid deactivating all the plugins, the plugins folder, the themes, but nothing worked. Could you please assist me in this?

    Thank you and kind regards,
    Jakob.

  • Apologies, but we can’t help with your issue directly because we don’t host your site on our WordPress.com managed hosting.

To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions.

Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at your current host. As a result, we do not have access to your site and are not familiar with the source of your issue.

You definitely have the option to move your site to us so we can provide in-house help, but as it stands now, we cannot help since it is hosted elsewhere. The good news is that help is available here at the open-source WordPress forums:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

The folks in that forum are more familiar with these kinds of issues and are in the best position to help.

Thank you very much for your reply, my client unfortunately insists on using the host, which isn’t ideal. Thanks for your time.

  • Hi there,

No problem, Totoro use to do client work too, so I know how that goes. :)

You may wish to consider us as an option for future clients however. Our Business plan will allow you to install any plugin or theme “designed for WordPress” as well as provide every site with the advantages of our managed hosting, including built in security, spam filtering, brute force login protection, incremental backups of all site changes, and automated updates to all core software. See: https://wordpress.com/hosting/

One nice advantage of the Business plan (if you choose the yearly billing) is that it includes 24/7 live chat support from our priority support team, and would allow you to offload some or all of the site support after the project is over by prompting them to contact us going forward.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
