chmod problem: Setting access properties failed for

  Hello
  I tried to remove a backup folder that a backup pluging had used to store backups but I noticed I should change permissions to 777 first. So I tried to do that but then I get this message
  “Setting access properties failed for” under dreamweaver
  and
  “Could not change perms on…Operation not permitted” under FileZilla

  Could you please tell me any suggestion to be able to delete this folder’s files?
