Choice of advertisements or sponsored content placed by word press on free sites

  One of my sites, which is Christian blog, called Year of Mercy, is a free wordpress site and so wordpress place ad’s and ‘sponsored content’ under my posts.

  What I was wondering was their criteria for placing these items on sites. For example there usually seems to be sponsored content of lgbt.. type stories or lgb celebtrities kissing or such.. would this be perceived as interesting to a Christian audience ? or is some kind of mischief ?

  Does anyone else have experience of word press putting what seems to be sponsred content which clashes with the theme or interest group their site is for ?
