choice of plan

I’d like to post a Word document or PDF to WordPress, and then create a hyperlink to it. Is this possible? What is the best WordPress plan subscription to be able to do this?
I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out! I wanted to clarify – do you want to embed a Word doc or pdf to be visible to viewers on your site along with a hyperlink, or are you simply wanting to upload the docs to your media library and retrieve the URL of the doc to provide?
If the former, yes, you can embed pdf files to your site – our support page provides the process to make that happen:https://wordpress.com/support/embed-a-pdf-file/
If the latter, then yes, you can also upload Word documents or PDFs to your WordPress.com website and create a hyperlink to them. To do so, you can upload your document to the media library, copy the URL of the document, and then use that URL to create a hyperlink on your post or page. All paid plans on WordPress.com allow you to embed & upload and link to documents.
If you need further assistance with uploading and linking to documents, please feel free to check out:

I’m still unable to post a document. When I go to Media Library, the “All” “This Post” and “Documents” tabs are greyed out. Why is the “Documents” tab greyed out? Is this where I should be finding PDF documents that I’ve uploaded to WordPress?

Hey there,
It’s possible to see PDF’s here: https://dgadvisor.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.php – the media library doesn’t preview of the file, but the file has been uploaded to the site, for example: https://dgadvisor.files.wordpress.com/2023/04/un-3091-batteries-contained-over-5kg-by-us-ground-20230424-2.pdf
I hope this helps.
