Choosing a Plan

    I want to create a website for my vacation rental property to allow customers to see my property and book and pay for their vacation. Which of your plans is right for me?

    Hi there,

    You plan to offer multiple properties for rent, or just one? It will help to gauge your needs so if you can give us a bit more info it will help. For now I can say that this kind of functionality is not built into WordPress.com by default, but can be added by upgrading to our Business Plan, which will allow you to upload any plugin or theme “designed for WordPress”

    There are quite a few “booking” plugins to choose from, for example, which will add that functionality to your site: https://wordpress.com/plugins?s=booking

    To explain a little more about plugins, WordPress is an open platform and there are plugins (similar to apps on your smartphone) you can install onto your site to give it functionality it does not have “out of the box” so it is very likely that you could create that kind of site using WordPress, though as I mention it’s not built into our free sites by default.

    Essentially you would be able to set up a site to show your property, and use a plugin to add booking functionality so you can add dates to a calendar, take payment, etc.
