Choosing a theme

Hello! I want some help trying to choose the right theme.
I know this is a really difficult question to answer, but I’m trying anyway as I’m starting to get a bit frustrated. I wanted to change my theme as I was not happy with my previous. A lot of the themes looks nice, altough when I choose preivew (to show the theme with my blog content) it looks totally different from the example. In this way it’s difficult to know if the theme is what I want or not. In addition there are a lot of settings that’s not possible with certain themes and this takes a while to figure out.
Not saying I want exaclty this theme, but this is my inspiration: http://cookieandkate.com/. As you can se on my current blog, it’s very wide and the pictures and recipe box is way to big. This example (the link I posted) has more space on both sides – which is what I want.
I want the sidebar to the right – which is also shown in the example. On many themes I’ve tried, the sidebar is on the bottom of the page.
On my home page I would like one big photo of the newest recipe and smaller pictures (3 by 3 or something) below. Or just one and one post below each other.
I would really like to create a menu as shown in the example too, where all the recipes (of a certain category) are listed beside each other with the picture .
It’s also really important that it’s possible to create a relative large header.
Do you have a suggestion about which theme would fit my blog? My current theme could fit, although there are a lot of things I’m not happy with and want to change… I have also looked at Dicot, altough I had some problems with the sidebar and recipe box.

Yes altough I changed my theme again, it’s difficult to find one I really like. But I think I’ve found one now! Is there someone who could help me on the curator theme? I see that several people have posted there, but they haven’t gotten an answer yet, even though they posted a month ago….
