Choosing how to launch my new blog

    Hello, I’m trying to make a blog site as a part of my school project. I am new to wordpress and I’m confused on whether I should ‘Transfer your domain away from your current registrar.’ or ‘Map your domain without moving it from your current registrar.’

    Hi there!

    That all depends on what you prefer.
    If you have a custom domain registered elsewhere and you purchased one of our paid plans, you can use that domain with your WordPress.com site.

    You can either map it – your domain will stay with the current registrar and you’ll need to go to their site to manage anything domain related.

    You can also transfer the domain to WordPress.com and we’ll be your new registrar. This way you’ll manage everything from one place and you’ll be able to reach support with any domain related-issues :)

    If you do not want to upgrade at the moment you can choose the free subdomain (like one ending with .wordpress.com).
