Chosen domain on free option, now won't let me launch site
-
I’ve chosen a domain already, as you have to before getting started, and then set up the theme, beginning intro post etc. as I want. When I then hit the button for “launch site” it takes me to a web page where it then asks me to choose a domain name. I already have!
But my site won’t launch without going to this choose a domain page (all chargeable ones) and just reverts to my ‘Private’ unpublished site (with my previously chosen domain name in the address bar) as I left it when I go back to exit it.
Any help please?

Hi @o4fswrite, you should have an option to skip the paid domain, or you’d be welcome to simply set the site to public here:

No, unfortunately it doesn’t help, my site isn’t launched even if I chose the free option, unless I pay. How to skip this? I want to keep it free.

It should only take a few more clicks if you have already created a free site with a subdomain ending in .blog or wordpress.com. Make sure that after clicking the “Launch site” button that you leave blank the field at the top that says “Enter a name or keyword”. Instead just click on “skip purchase” at the bottom right next to your new free address and then click on continue with free at the top on the next page.
