Chronological order
-
I found the page about putting the posts in chronological order. So I went to my first post (2011/09/21), edited the http to add ?order=asc.
It worked for that one page. When I went back to the index page (http://chucksnuc.wordpress.com/) it was not changed; newest posts at the top.
How do I put all of my posts on the main page in chronological order? And that will mean any new posts are at the bottom.
I really want this blog to read in order; it’s a story.Thank you,

Hi Chuck:
You might find these suggestions from another member helpful: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/posts-in-chronological-order-1?replies=2
For step 4, visit the WordPress Admin Dashboard to make the changes. https://chucksnuc.wordpress.com/wp-admin
From there, navigate to appearance, customize, static front page, and select the newly created page.I hope this will help you tell your story in the way you desire :)

Melissa,
I did it, and it put my first few posts at the top of the page!
And that was it. The blog stopped in Sept. ’11. It appears to be about 10% of the entire blog.
So how do I make ALL of my blog appear on one page in chronological order?
And there was something about posting in those steps you had me do. It did not allow for new posts to go on the page I had just put in chrono order. Where will new posts go? Should I make an ‘Update’ page for new posts?Thank you.

Please see https://en.support.wordpress.com/show-your-posts-in-chronological-order/
Blogs are essentially a reverse chronological order publishing tool wherein the most recent published post will display on top. You cannot change this order on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. There is no upgrade that allows you to change this post order on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. It’s designed to serve your visitors as they come to read the most recent posts and will not be inclined to trawl through hundreds of posts to locate it.
See here for the option of creating a book-like structure > http://en.support.wordpress.com/write-a-book/ Perhaps that will work for you.
Or you could use a single sticky post as an index page > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts
Or you can falsify every date-stamp before publishing.
Staff have provided this support doc: Show your Posts in Chronological Order http://en.support.wordpress.com/show-your-posts-in-chronological-order/
Additional information:
The default timezone is UTC time. You can reset your timezone here > Dashboard > Settings > General. Select the closest city to you in the same timezone in the drop-down menu you see there and then click “save changes”.Edit the post, change the datestamp in the Publish module, and click Update.
All Posts are found here > Dashboard > Posts > All Posts
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php
*replace “/NAME_OF_BLOG” with the actual name of your blogYou hover over the title of the post and click the Edit link, then edit the datestamp in the Publish module and click update.
Note that you can examine these images so you see how to edit posts and change datestamps and timestamps where required.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/Note also that if you create sticky posts they will always be on top https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-visibility/#sticky-posts unless or until you edit and remove the sticky designation.

Note that creating a page and using the display posts shortcode https://en.support.wordpress.com/display-posts-shortcode/ on it will apply only to 100 posts.
Limits
The Display Posts Shortcode has a limit of 100 posts displayed. -
As @timethief mentioned above, The Display Posts Shortcode does have a limit.
She also provided an excellent link to a support document where you can learn more about the Display Posts Shortcode.Try adding posts_per_page=”100″ to the end and see if that helps.
Like this:
[display-posts include_content="true" image_size="thumbnail" wrapper="div" order="ASC" posts_per_page="100"]As for your new posts, if they are part of this same story they should automatically go in order because of the shortcode.
Let me know how it goes :)

I forgot to mention that according to the support document, new posts will be displayed within one hour of publishing.

OK, thanks for the help.
I have yet to try a new post. Not sure where it will end up.
And it’s too bad that my Grateful Dead song from YouTube will no longer auto-start. Now it’s a premium option, alas. -

Looks great? The ‘look’ is courtesy of WordPress. You must mean those attractive, flattering photos of some guy in a concentration camp. Although, also included are two females (six legs) I know who are pretty alluring. That, and the 17 minutes of Grateful Dead from 1977 (although it doesn’t autoplay like it did in the past).
Melissa, I get the distinct feeling that we are not alone. Is this being broadcast on some WordPress forum page? Well, that’s fine too; I’ve always thought the world would be a better place if only more people listened to ME!Chuck

Please see my blog at mikes3dandmore.wordpress.com, in which I have attempted to create a simple posting system in chronological order. Since the blog is fairly new, time will be required to see if my “system” works. If additional information is needed, please contact me and I will be glad to explain how my approach may help others who also want their posts in chronological order (1-2-3-4-5 instead of 5-4-3-2-1).
There is an interesting plugin offered for free at
I downloaded the very small plugin, but I have not tried it yet. As always, you probably want to check any download with your antivirus program.
If my comments are posted incorrectly, or are not helpful. please excuse the newbie.
Thank you for your consideration.
Mike
