chunk theme not responsive to date format changes

  I have been trying to change the date format to:

  Day, Month, Day Year (l, F, j Y)

  however, when I change it in: Settings > General > Date Format, the theme is unresponsive. I think this might be a bug in the Chunk theme.

  I would also like the date to be written out without abbreviations (Sunday, March 4, 2012), but realize that might be a limitation of the theme itself.
